The Beach Bar & Grill - The One and Only Royal Mirage, Dubai

The Beach Bar & Grill is a place suitable for a casual beach lunch or a date-like dinner (or any kind of dinner for that matter). Overlooking the Palm from the One and Only Royal Mirage, BBG sits between the green gardens filled with palm trees and the golden sandy beach, set on layers of chocolate brown wooden decking. The mood by day is beach chic - head down for a fresh sea food platter or refreshing cocktail under the shaded terrace or on the beach whilst you dig your toes in the sand, where at night, the place comes alight with flickering candles and lanterns, the dress code becomes a bit more grown up and seafood platters get swapped for steaks and grilled delights.




Like most Dubai haunts, indoor and outdoor seating is available but to capture the real essence of the place, outdoor dining is a must  - the breeze comes in off the beach with fabulous ocean views available even from the terrace. We dined on a selection carpaccio and steaks, however there were a vast selection of grilled fish and meats floating about as well as mezze platters, risottos and the odd pasta dish - something for everyone! Likewise, the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and they ensured the flow of wine and frozen daiquiris kept coming all night.



I would highly recommend this place for a quiet/romantic dinner or a great place to take family or friends to show them a part of the 'wow' of Dubai. Not the place for a crazy booze up - its peaceful and private and a definite gem in Dubai.

    Reading this just made my day! Beach vacations are my absolute favorite — there's something about the combination of sun, sand, and sea that just resets your soul. 🏖️

    I've been to quite a few beaches around the world, but one place that genuinely surprised me was Barefoot In The Bar in Speightstown, Barbados. I wasn't expecting much when a local recommended it — just figured it'd be another casual beach spot. But wow, was I wrong.

    First of all, the location is unreal. It's right on the sand — like, your table is literally on the beach. You're eating with your toes buried in warm white sand while staring at the most insane turquoise water. The west coast of Barbados is known for its sunsets, and from here you get a front-row seat to the whole show.

    But what really got me was the whole atmosphere. It's not trying to be fancy or trendy. It's just... real. The food is honest-to-goodness Bajan cooking — fresh flying fish, perfectly grilled seafood, homemade macaroni pie that tastes like someone's grandmother made it. The Rum Punch is made fresh to order, not poured from some pre-made mix. And the staff? They treat you like you're a regular even if it's your first time.

    I went for lunch and ended up staying until they closed. Made friends with people at the next table. Danced barefoot to a steel pan band. Watched the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. It wasn't planned — it just happened. And honestly, those are the best kind of travel memories, aren't they?

    If Barbados is on your radar, don't overthink it. Just go. 🏝️🍹🌅
