Bu Qtair - Jumeirah

Messy, unpretentious however undoubtedly delicious - Bu Qtair is the only one of its kind in Dubai. Off the main road in the heart of Jumeirah with views of the Burj Al Arab sits a little Portacabin which traffics people in and out on a daily basis. Fish is caught in the early hours of the morning and then served up bringing a taste of Kerala to Dubai.

Expect to find curried prawns with an array of curried fish, cooked on the spot and served hot with Arabic bread, chips and/or rice with a deliciously spiced curry sauce to polish it off. If menus are your thing, this might not suit you as what is caught is whats on offer - take it or leave it.

All seating is on the sand, made up of plastic table and chairs and food is served on paper plates with plastic cutlery - a proper back to basics dining experience. For 100aed you can will you boots full of fish (for two people I might add), however, beware of the odd fish bone lurking in your food.
